Quotation Tuesday!

"Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard." -Jesse Managdeg

Whether or not you're talented, I am sure you know this to be true. If you are talented then the Lord has blessed you with a great gift, a gift meant to be used for His glory, a gift meant to be used to it's full potential. But how do you use a gift to it's full potential? How do you wring every drop of the juice of potential out of a talent that you possess. I can assure you it won't happen on it's own. In fact, it will take a lot of hard work. Without hard work and dedication, the gifts we have been given would be of no use to the Kingdom of God.

On the other hand, what if you are not talented, per se? I am one who falls into the not talented category. Granted I can do many things, and most I can do fairly well, but none of them come easily. Those born with a talent are able to pursue that with ease. Even without working hard their performance is high above average. With hard work though, it could be superb! Those of us who are not talented would miss the mark each and every time if we failed to work hard at all. But through hard work, sometimes painful effort, we can rise above and accomplish things we never thought possible. With enough hard work we may even rise above the talented who are content to glide by on that talent, instead of adding the engine of hard work to their talents.

Hard work, it may be harder, but it is guaranteed to get you much further than talent alone.
