My Greatest Hope

Another poem I found while packing up my dorm room for the summer. This one is a sonnet. No, really, it is.

The heaviness, despair of night.
Dark, the road before me long.
Where on earth has He hid the light?
Where the joyful worship song
Wont to fill my heart, but now
Stripped to heart of bleeding heart?
Why, I begin to wonder aloud.
Do we feel so very far apart?
Draw me closer than ever before;
Whisper softly through the dawn.
Heal the wounded, aching sore;
Restore the joyful Kingdom song.

Stripped bare, I begin to see
My greatest hope is trusting Thee.
